Prof. Ibrahim Marwan

Biography
Prof. Ibrahim Marwan is the Ex-Dean of the National Liver Institute Menoufeya University, Egypt. He is currently working as an emeritus Professor of hepato-biliary and liver transplant Surgery.
Prof. Marwan graduated from the medical school of Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1973 followed by M. Sc. and MD degrees from the same University. He started his training in the Liver Research Unit, Ain Shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt and pursued his career as a hepato-bilary surgeon starting 1986 in the National Liver Institute. In co-operation with national and international surgeons.
Prof. Marwan established living-related liver transplantation programs in the National Liver Institute in Menoufeya as well as in different private and public hospitals in Cairo. Furthermore, Prof. Marwan served as the dean of the National Liver Institute in Menoufeya, head of the Surgery Department as well as Director of the Liver Transplantation Unit. With the help of non-governmental organizations.
Prof. Marwan was able to maintain a fund for financially supporting pediatric patients in need for different hepato-biliary surgical procedures and liver transplant. His clinical and research interests include – among others – surgical management of pediatric patients with biliary atresia as well as re-construction techniques of the portal vein in living-related liver transplantation. Professor Marwan teach and supervised the young doctors to master the operation of living donor liver transplant.

Biography
Dr. Mostafa El Shazli is the professor and Ex/chairman of general surgery department at kasr Al Aini faculty of medicine, cairo university.
He is the founder and head of hepato-pancreato-biliary unit. He is one of the founder and the managing director of liver transplantation program in Kasr Al Aini faculty of medicine hospitals
He is one of the Founders and moderator of the Egyptian Hepato-pancreato-biliary fellowship (MOH)
He received his MBBCH from same university in 1982 after which he persuaded his postgraduate education (Msc,MD 1991) and training in general surgery at the same institution. This is in addition to his abroad training in US and UK in the fields of laparoscopic surgery, HPB, and liver transplantation. Through out his career he developed a robust practice and research in advanced laparoscopic and Bariatric surgeries in addition to liver transplantation and HPB surgeries. This enabled him to convey his experience to other surgeons in different parts in Egypt and region.
Prof Mostafa is one of the founders and elected member of different medical associations (Egyptian society of laparoscopic surgeons, HPB Group of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons, Egyptian organ transplantation society, Hepato-Cellular Carcinoma society of Kasr AlAini, Egyptian medical association for study of obesity), this in addition to his membership in other local and international societies.
